Nose : As delicate as it comes: layered vanilla and marmalade. The honey boasts gentle acacia and manuka, while bourbon liquorice adds extra weight; excellent oils and depth throughout;
Taste : Mouth-filling and malty, the oils work into every crevice, taking with them first butterscotch and then those varying styles of honey; the middle ground owes much to a bourbon style;
Finish : Drier with the vanilla holding fort then a bigger, more lush staging of natural caramels; late mocha adds to slightly salty complexity late on;
Balance : A malt which has much to say, but does so with a quiet intensity. This really is a class act.
