For those who enjoy this tipple, know today is a day to celebrate. While staying home (and staying safe) is the norm, we suggest you make the most of home time to experiment with different spirits. Usually whisky is considered a seasoned drinker's beverage, and is usually thought of as an expensive drink. Today, on World Whisky Day we suggest some great brands that are affordable, great on the palette and are under Rs 10,000.
Paul John Oloroso
This rich and fruity Indian single malt from Paul John is finished in oloroso Sherry casks from Spain. “The exquisite, almost ruby-red colour reflects the impact of first fill sherry cask. It is hands down the best sherry cask-finished whisky at this price point and amongst the best expressions of Paul John,” says Swati Sharma, Co-Founder, The Dram Club. With notes of brown sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, roasted almonds, prunes, dates and dark chocolate, Sharma says that it all comes together to make one decadent dram. “Dark chocolate like Godiva 85% Dark Chocolate can match up and compliment the intense and rich flavours of this whisky,” she adds.
