Crafted from malts finished in ex-bourbon, brandy and peated Oloroso casks, the chestnut-hued Paul John Christmas Edition 2022 from the exotic shores of Goa, offers rich aromas of sweet oak, dry spice and baked apples and peaches, enhanced with dark chocolate. Soft flavours of mellow peat, orange dark chocolate and a light peppery spice laced with delicious plum cake and butterscotch lead to a deep, creamy, and lingering finish of a profuse hazelnut.

The 5th Edition of the limited Christmas Edition series from the award-winning Paul John Indian Single Malt, this rare malt presents the delightful magic of Christmas!

Nose:

Rich aromas of sweet oak, dry spice, baked apples and peaches, enhanced with dark chocolate.

Palate:

Soft and sweet flavours of mellow peat, orange dark chocolate, and a light peppery spice laced with delicious plum cake and butterscotch.

Finish:

Deep, creamy and lingering with a profuse hazelnut laced with dark chocolate.

The aroma is warm and enticing, but the palate is the star for me. I could easily sit and sip a glass of this Paul John Christmas Edition 2022 any day of the week. It's the kind of whiskey I want to enjoy over and over—an elegant and nuanced after-work dram.

Indian single malt whisky maker Paul John's annual Christmas release has become something of a yuletide tradition...This year's addition was made from malts finished in ex-bourbon, brandy and peated Oloroso sherry casks. It's darkly fruity on the nose, with notes of plum and sticky toffee pudding above a warm aroma of cereal grain below...On the palate, Paul John Christmas Edition 2022 proves sweet in a Christmas dessert-sense, with layers of stewed plums, apples and pears.

Christmas Edition 2022

Paul John Christmas Edition 2022 surprised me in the best possible way. Perhaps my brain was already primed by the name, but this whisky tasted like Christmas. Vanilla, spice, apple, and dark fruit remind me of the best desserts of the winter holidays, so this drink felt cozy and nostalgic in addition to festive.
