They say that your first time's always special, and we couldn't agree more. After our launch in the USA last year, we have steadily established our presence across the country. The reviews have been kind to us. Retailers have been enthusiastic about stocking The Great Indian Single Malt. Each tasting has been an incredible experience. But the cherry on the cake has been our very first set of awards in the USA, at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2017.
This Challenge is held in high regard by both the whisky industry and whisky connoisseurs. Since inception, their mission has been “to create and establish a new and higher standard of evaluation for spirits and wine that provides accurate, meaningful and useful results in recognizing and promoting the quality of beverage alcohol products”. The judging is done in blind and is a multi-stage assessment process. It is rather rigorous where each product is reviewed under ideal tasting conditions over a period of time that allows the product to express its best characteristics.
After being subjected to the stringent trials of their judging process, Peated Select Cask received the highest honours, the Chairman's Trophy as the 'Ultimate Winner' (96 points). With 92 points, Classic Select Cask was chosen the Finalist. Brilliance and Edited, whiskies from our flagship collection, were given 90 points each, and were considered "excellent" and were "highly recommended”.
We are honoured to have received these awards, and look forward to more exciting times in the USA.
